Fraud is the biggest competitor you didn’t know you had.
It is estimated that $1 billion was lost to fraud during the Canterbury Earthquake Rebuilds. Fraud is a $3.7 trillion dollar ‘industry’ globally, and it’s here in New Zealand too. Fraud damages your organisation, your culture and threatens the work you do. It can be countered, but have your people been prepared?
This Fraud Awareness module conveys the core anti-fraud training topics all staff should know as identified by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE). Learners can build their own fraudster and explore situations relevant to your organisation.
By the end of the module, your people will be able to:
- Describe the prevalence and cost of fraud and the damage it causes
- Apply the fraud triangle and explain how anybody can commit fraud given the right circumstances.
- Recognise common forms of fraud as fraud, and what the flow-on damage is from each
- Explore ways to minimise fraud risk
- Identify the warning signs of fraud
- Take appropriate action
- Find further help, resources and support.

Additional
scenarios
Depending on your organisations’ appetite and situation, additional training scenarios can be added that further examine your workplace’s specific fraud risk.
